Uma viagem ao mundo do vinho by Castanheira, Maria de Fátima Guerreiro Publication: Lisboa FA 2010 , Resumo: O objectivo de trabalho aqui proposto incide na reabilitação e requalificação da Quinta da Arealva. A primeira fase incide numa pesquisa e compreensão do método fenomenológico para posteriormente se realizar uma análise de uma quinta de recreio. Inicialmente é feita uma breve descrição do que se entende por quinta de recreio, de forma a contextualizar o trabalho em prática. Para atingir o objectivo pretendido, é necessário entender numa primeira etapa o conceito de fenomenologia e como é aplicada na área da arquitectura, só depois é possível passar à análise fenomenológica da Quinta da Arealva. Após uma intensa pesquisa e apreensão dos conhecimentos é então realizada a análise. Para uma compreensão do lugar em estudo foi utilizado o "método para a experiência do belo" de Raymond Bayer definido em quatro fases. Numa segunda fase do trabalho será apresentada a proposta e estratégia de intervenção adoptada para a elaboração do projecto. A Quinta da Arealva, que teve uma vida de armazenamento e tratamento de vinhos, possibilitará "uma viagem ao mundo do vinho" através da sua reabilitação e requalificação sob a forma de Museu do Fabrico do Vinho. Como conclusão deste trabalho importa referir que este tipo de análise fenomenológica se revela num aspecto de grande importância e que não deve de forma alguma ser ignorada por parte do arquitecto. Para a realização de um projecto arquitectónico, o conhecimento prévio do lugar e a sua total compreensão são factores que vão influenciar qualitativamente o desenvolvimento do trabalho. | Abstract: The work aim here proposed focuses on the rehabilitation and requalification of Quinta da Arealva The first step consists in a research and in the understanding of the phenomenological method, so that in a later stage it can be developed an analysis of a recreation country house. Initially it's made a brief description of the meaning of the concept “recreation country house”, in order to contextualize the work in practice. It's necessary to understand, in a first stage, the concept of phenomenology and how it can be applied to architecture; only then it's possible to begin the phenomenological analysis of Quinta da Arealva. Only after an intense research (and apprehension of the knowledge that comes upon that same research), can we make the intended analysis of Quinta da Arealva. For the understanding of the place in study, it was used the “method for the experience of the beautiful” from Raymond Bayer, defined in four stages. In a second phase of the work, it will be presented the proposal and the intervention strategy adopted for the elaboration of the project, Quinta da Arealva (which has developed, in the past, activities related to the storage and treatment of wines) will allow “a trip to the world of wine” through its rehabilitation and requalification, under the shape of a Museum of Wine making. In the conclusion of this work, it's important to enlighten that this kind of phenomenological analysis is revealed in a very important aspect, that should not, in any circumstance, be ignored by the architect: to accomplish an architectonic project, the previous knowledge of the place and its full comprehension are factors that will sway qualitatively the development of the work. Identidade do espaço pela matéria by Pinto, Patrícia Sofia Soares Diniz Publication: Lisboa FA 2010 , Resumo: A presente dissertação objectiva compreender a relação que o ser humano estabelece com o Espaço e em que medida a temática da Matéria influencia o modo como o habita, ou seja, de que forma pode ser trabalhada em função da criação do espaço segundo o que este pretende ser, capaz de manipular a percepção humana. A sociedade contemporânea valoriza cada vez mais questões como mobilidade, proximidade e diversidade como meio para obter qualidade de vida. A arquitectura propende responder nesse caminho tendendo os edifícios a torna-se infra-estruturas diversificadas que concentram em si uma multiplicidade de usos e consequentemente de espaços. Contudo, os modos de habitar vão previsivelmente concentrar-se densamente próximos, colocando em causa a questão da privacidade. Com isto, torna-se imperativo centralizar os objectivos projectuais na definição da identidade dos espaços ambicionando assegurar uma vivência colectiva equilibrada com as ambições de modo de vida. Com base neste estudo conclui-se que o projectar do Espaço deve reflectir primeiramente sobre o modo como este é percepcionado pelo ser humano, podendo esta relação ser feita de duas formas, uma não controlável pelo arquitecto, por remeter para a memória e cultura de cada um, e outra passível de controlo através da Matéria, seja pela manipulação dos seus constituintes regulando níveis de privacidade e transmitindo intenções de habitar, seja pela aparência sugestiva influente do modo de estar. Apesar disto, não é infalível estando sempre sujeita à interpretação de cada ser humano. Conclui-se ainda que é fundamental a existência de um conceito para sustentação da criação do espaço individualizado com objectivos do que pretende ser, pois só assim conseguirá transmitir uma ideia de habitar. Assim o desenvolvimento do projecto entende o Espaço como um vazio escavado na Matéria, vazio este que passa a ser o elemento estruturante do cheio, segundo o conceito definido. | Abstract: This dissertation aims at understanding the relationship that human beings establish with Space and in what way the theme of Matter influences how Space is inhabited by them, i.e., the way Matter can be used to create space according to what it intends to be, being able to manipulate human perception. Contemporaneous society increasingly values issues like mobility, proximity and diversity as a means of obtaining quality of life. Architecture tends to present responses in this sense since buildings tend to become diversified infrastructures that assemble in themselves a multiplicity of uses, and therefore, of spaces. Nevertheless, inhabiting ways will predictably assemble in proximity, and question the issue of privacy. This way, it is crucial to centralize planning goals when defining the identity of spaces, with the aim of assuring a collective living in accordance to the aspirations of living styles. Based on this study, the conclusion is that Space planning shall firstly reflect on the way human beings perceive it, which can be done in two ways — a way which is not controlled by the architect, when it addresses the individual memory and culture, and a way that can be controlled with Matter, whether by manipulating its constituencies, governing the levels of privacy and transmitting the intentions of inhabiting, or by the influent suggestive appearance of lifestyle. Nevertheless, it is not infallible because it is always subject of the interpretation of each human being. It is also concluded that it is crucial to have a concept for the sustaining of individualized space creation with the goals of its intentions, as only so will it be able to transmit an idea of inhabiting. Therefore, the development of planning comprehends Space as an emptiness dug in Matter, an emptiness which becomes the structuring element of fullness, according to the defined concept. A intervenção plástica em azulejo na arquitectura portuguesa do século XX by Abrantes, Ânia Gabriel Rosa Publication: Lisboa FA 2010 , Resumo: A dissertação que se apresenta tem como objectivo principal analisar as relações que se concretizam entre a intervenção plástica em azulejo e o espaço arquitectónico em que se inscreve, durante o século XX, em Portugal. Para esse efeito, elege-se como caso de estudo a obra em azulejo de Maria Keil, uma autora de excepção, com um trabalho em azulejo inovador e marcante, fundamental na sua renovação contemporânea. Realiza-se uma pesquisa do azulejo enquanto material - a sua evolução histórica, a síntese das suas componentes físicas e das propriedades visuais e a autonomia da sua linguagem plástica, nomeadamente, no desenho de composições de padrão. Posteriormente, analisa-se a intervenção em azulejo no revestimento da arquitectura, os princípios de actuação das duas expressões artísticas, a relação formal que se estabelece, a metodologia de incorporação e os efeitos resultantes na percepção espacial do conjunto. Concretizando estes fundamentos, efectua-se uma análise das obras mais significativas de Maria Keil em azulejo, das características individuais do seu desenho, das composições singulares e do resultado percepcional das intervenções sobre os espaços. A essencialidade desta questão elabora-se sobre o sentido da arquitectura permitir-se ao uso do discurso plástico-artístico do azulejo, como contribuição para a criação de novas percepções sensoriais do espaço arquitectónico, sem que se desconfigure como disciplina autónoma e considerando a configuração, também ela própria, da intervenção artística em azulejo. | Abstract: The present dissertation's main goal is analysing the relations that occur between the tile's plastic intervention and the architectural space in which it is inserted, throughout the 20th century in Portugal. For that purpose, it is selected as case study the Maria Keil's work in tile, an exceptional authoress, with an innovating and remarkable work in tile, fundamental for its contemporary renovation. A research of the tile as a material is done — the historic evolution, the synthesis of its physical components and visual properties and the autonomy of its plastic language, especially in the design of pattern compositions. Afterwards, the tile's intervention as a revetment on the architecture, the actuation principles of the two artistic expressions, the formal relationship, the incorporation method and the effects that result in the global spatial perception are analysed. Applying these values, it is then introduced an analysis of the most significant of Maria Keil's work with tiles, her individual drawing characteristics, the singular compositions and the perceptional results of her interventions in the space. The essentiality of this question is elaborated on the sense of the architecture allowing itself the use of a plastic-artistic speech, as a contribution for the creation of new sensorial perceptions of the architectural space, without loosing its configuration as an autonomous discipline and considering the configuration, as well, of the artistic tile's intervention.
